The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently traveling to the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers into the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering expert services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency said it is actually alarmed with regard to the substantial number of people counting on social grants for survival.
“The intention from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to your higher amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“That is mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no entirely functional office devoted to service the area every day. The provider issue created for intervention encounters a large influx of likely beneficiaries, which makes it tough SRD for the office to attend to all people who go to a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more sources to help the servicing of all customers and maximize usage of Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
